I'm saddened to tell you there is a rider down, my dad Howard. He passed away this last Thursday the 21st, he was 92. Some of you may remember some posts in the past about him and my mom, they were HD folks from pre WWII and enjoyed riding their 1938 Knucklehead up through the mid 50's. Except during the war when he had enlisted in the Navy. My mom even helped the war effort helping to build baby flat tops on the west coast. What a pair, they are truly an inspiration to all of us. Mom is still going strong, doing pretty good these last few days, and she's 93! They had been married for 67 years.
Thanks to all of you for your past replies to my posts about my Harley folks and their adventures. I had shared them all with the two of them and it brought a lot of joy to them hearing from fellow riders. I'm sure my dad is blasting around now on his "machine", as he put it, and having a grand time.
Here's a picture of dad in 1940 in L.A. on a 7000 mile trip he made through the western part of the US.
Keep riding dad!
