OK, here's the foolproof 'Garz' way to determine what you've got in your tank:
1. Note the position of your
fool fuel gauge as you pull up to the pump, bike upright in riding position.
2. Fill the tank
3. Subtract gallons it took to fill the tank from the (supposed) tank capacity.
4. This tells you how many gallons you have in the tank when the little pointer or number of lights is at a certain point.
I've found that when my fool gauge shows 1/2 tank, I have 1 (one) gallon left in the tank. Checked it several times, and it's consistent. Of course, the little pointer doesn't move off full for a long time, but when it does... look out!
Works for me. I don't want anyone messing with my stuff anymore. I know, I know, fuel gauges are rocket science - new technology, so I really don't expect HD to have it worked out at this early stage.
And this is my post # 666.
