Exhaust
« on: August 24, 2008, 04:46:29 PM »

I have a 08 CVO Springer and wanted to exchange the factory exhaust system to a after market system.  Looking for something that has the noise level of mid to loud range...any suggestion?

Thanks!

Love my flat black big radius pipes by vance and hines.  They are loud

vance and hines sideshots, i got chrome and they now come in black. great sound, plenty loud and have a cross over which helps with performance.

I have the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-2. They sound great and are obvious, but not too loud. I also found the installation to be quite easy, although you will need a fuel management system of your choice. I have the PCIII.

I have the Rinehart 2 into 1 loud but not obnoxious. They have a deep rumble sound to them and I think I have had more complements on the exhaust than the whole bike.

How loud do you want? It seems that the 2 int 1 gives best performance from the dyno, me personally I like it when I drive by cars and the people put their fingers in their ear. Its great!

I put the BR pipes on mine and thought holy crap that's loud. That thought only lasted about 5 min before I thought it sounded just right. 8) Also you can remove the baffles(what little is in there) or add quieter baffles.

Genrally the shorter the pipe the louder it will be.  Unfortunately you may loose some horse power for top end.  All the pipe have their pros and cons. Its all a personal judgement call.

I put the Rinehart Crossback exhaust on mine.

I wanted it to look different than everyone else that has the Big Radius pipes, 2 into 1, or big shot staggard pipes!   lol :pepper:

I like the look of the Crossback's. Not sure if you heard the 2 into 1 or the Big Radius Deuce but if so how would you compare them in sound/performance? I'm guessing it has to be somewhere in the middle of both?

On my 08, I have the exact same pipes as Deuce Bigelow, the Rinehart cross backs staggered in chrome (they also come in black). The first time I heard these I thought they were very loud, almost too loud, but like drogers with his Big Radius, that lasted about 5 minutes. But what really impressed me the most about the Rineharts is buying my 09 SE Springer where I installed Rush slip ons, and I clearly noticed how much more torque and performance the 08 SE Springer with the Rineharts has over the 09. The only thing it can be is the Rinehart exhaust.

I have the Bassani Pro Streets on my 08 and they are definitely LOUD!  I love em personally.   You can look at them on the Bassani web site.  My bike is at the dealership getting the 110 upgrade/recall work done, but I should have it back today.  I'll try and load you a couple of pics so you can see what they look like on the bike.  The guys at the dealership were all over it when I took it in yesterday.
