Have any of you or/are using Skype
I have just recently (3 months ago) discovered Skype

Basically software that allows you to talk on the phone anywhere in the world.

Skype to Skype calls are FREE, yes FREE......quality is better than normal landlines

Only equipment needed is a headset (cheap $15.00) for your computer

You can get a Skype number and you can be reached and has voicemail.....free

Skype in the USA to a landline or cell phone costs about .02/min   again cheap

I travel and sometimes my cell phones are not always reliable and sometimes inop out of the country.....

make conference calls, video calls ....... great tool .....if you have not tried I would suggest looking at....

with Skype you can stay in contact where ever you have internet and they have phones (do not need computer just wifi)
and you can make calls free to another Skype phone or computer---really cool stuff and the software is free....

I second that sentiment, it's a great tool. I use the video to talk AND see my Dad in real time. He's very ill and we had to ship him from Syracuse to Houston for medical treatment. For anyone with loved ones that reside outside their local area this is cool!!!

I go along with you guys here, We use it to keep in touch with family and being able to see them when you are talking to them is a real buzz for us. One of our sons is in the Air Force so we don't get up to see our grandchildren as much as we would like so it's nice to see them on Skype.

I travel at times and Satellite phones are just to expensive to use regularly.
I plan to purchase a Skype phone soon

we have an ATT special package for family in Italy at about $65/month unlimited calling and the wife probably actually uses this at minimum 30 hours per month-the video feature sounds interesting-do you have that? What's entailed? As I read no computer is necessary for a call just wi-fi? Do tell

Need a computer with internet access on both sides of call and if they cameras you are set......free software and cheap headset if you want privacy otherwise comes across speakers and built in mic.

2 option wifi access (no computer needed) and but a Skype phone and you can talk to another Skype Phone or computer.....If you have a Skype to Skype  call there is No cost /min

question though? why would you have wifi and no computer?

I use it to talk to my daughter at college.  It's nice to be able to see her and talk.  We both have Mac's so the video is very clear.  Love it.
