Do you have a part number for these? I want to do the 251's as well while the heads are being removed for the 0905 "fix". Is there anything else I will need? And no Howie, I don't need a total engine replacement. I just want to keep this all HD (my money, my choice).

AJ, according to the SE Catalog, with stock/ACR perfromance heads, the P/N is 18401-03. :2vrolijk_21:

I went oversize on the 10.5 pistons to clean up the cylinder and maybe get a true bore. I did find out however that HD discontinued the .005 over pistons the only ones you can get now are standard bore or .010 over.

Why 18401-03 ? = 18401-03 +.030"
Is it not 18400-03 ? = Original Equipment Length

Thanks

BB,

I have not tried runnign the other 2 others you are referencing, but have run the 251 and it ran well for me.  I would still like the torque a tiny bit sooner than even the 251 brings it in, but I am afraid the ramps will be tough on the valve train and noisey.

I've run the SE257 on LD for about 12,000 miles and absolutely love it. Ran the Evo version on several of those and also liked it. It does all it's business between 2,700 and 5,200 RPM's. Plenty of toque and good top end. Only cam(s) I like better are the DM590G put out by Dave Mackie Engineering. Bubba_T's 103 is a cross between an angry bull and a freight train.

Yep, and that Table says: for SE 251 Cams; Original Equipment, ACR Performance Heads, or 103+ Heads; use P/N 18401-03. You use the stock length for the stock SE 255 Cams. ;)

I've seen this chart.
As you write : for SE 251 Cams; Original Equipment, ACR Performance Heads, or 103+ Heads; use P/N 18401-03.

That means we have ACR Performance Heads on our CUSE2/3.
Is it not the SE MVA ?

I think my dealer had made a mistake for his advise concerning my bike.

Thanks

The SE MVA is a brand new head for 09, It is the new version of the CNC HTCC heads I believe because they no loger offer those. It is the highest flowing head the MOCO is currently offering. So no you do not have these heads on your bike. You also do not have the ACR performance heads. You have what is known as the Original equipment CVO 110 heads. The exact specs on them I'm not sure about.

I was told the same specs as OE.

Howie,

Have you heard of any one trying the new MVA heads yet?  I did notice on the pushrod fitment page the mva heads would use the 18400-03 pushrods with 251 cams.

No, but Vern's building one right now with the 110+ heads. They look like stock ported heads to us. He plugged the ACR holes and put manuals in. I heard the MVA's also have very large ports and valves, like 110 heads. Haven't seen a set yet though. ;)
