105th Anniversary Numbered Badges
« on: September 02, 2008, 07:02:11 AM »

Hi To All Duracell Owners,

Has anyone removed their 105th Badge from the right side cover?  Was is difficult to remove?  Is it glued on and simply needing a little heat to loosen it up?

I'm considering relocating it and was looking for some tips prior to attempting it.

Thanks for any assistance you can supply.

I removed the badges on a damaged 2003 tank and it was a bich... I used a heat gun, (not a hair dryer) a second hand and fishing line. Use the fishing line to cut through the sticky patch, and once you get the fishing line going it's not too bad, but slow..

Why would you want to move it?   Those badges and paint job make our bikes unique..............although I saw them everywhere in Milwaukee! I even saw # 0001/1800 , it was at the Museum on Thursday in the parking lot with all of the other bikes??

Hey ScreaminEagle3,

So someone is actually riding #1?  Good for them... These machines are meant to ride, not just to look at.

I'm going to relocate the badge to another spot on the bike.  Haven't made up my mind yet, but the gas door, the front fender or the tour pack are all possibilities and I was wondering how difficult it is to remove?  Thinking that it would look better where people can see it easier.

Take care,
Grizzly
