FLHRSEI Internals.
« on: July 06, 2005, 11:27:05 AM »

Hello:

Could someone please tell me if either one of the years 2002 and or 2003 FLHRSEI contained the factory SE mods:

SE heavy duty clutch
SE Roller Rockers
SE Roller Lifters.

Respectfully.  Sausage

Note:  I did a search prior and did not find and info.  In addition, does anyone know if the factory HD 103 crate motors contained roller internal components as well

Here's my take:
SE Heavy Duty Clutch - Yes
SE Roller Rockers - I don't think so.
SE Roller Lifters - All Twin Cams have roller lifters, as far as an SE version, don't know.

Sausage,

You might want to check this link to some earlier discussions about 103 internals

I just had my motor built.  The rocker arms and lifters are not SE, in fact they are what the stock 88 come with.  I went with S&S roller rockers and upgraded to the SE lifters.

What is the difference between the stock lifters and the SE lifters?

Many thanks guys:

I finally found an HD technician who knew what the CVO Road King internals contained.  Here is what he said:

"HD 2002 and 2003 CVO's although SE factory based items MUST meet EPA restrictions hence these engines are Emission based not much different in specs than factory stock TC88 items.  Personaly I was hoping these engines contained per part number all the BEST SE catalog performance items however the CVO engines in question like you guys said contain mild performace based items such as cast pistons in lieu of forged and non roller rockers with mild cams.  All is ok however I was hoping that one would NOT have to continue upgrades on an already expensive factory upgraded unique CVO engine as not to spend more and compromise authenticity.

Respectfully.  Sausage

Sausage,
Sounds like you got the info you were looking for. This might help... These part numbers are from the FLHRSEI2 Parts Catalog. With the exception of the clutch, it looks like these are standard parts.

37806-03     Clutch Assembly, complete
17360-83A   Rocker Arm, front intake & rear exhaust
17375-83A   Rocker Arm, rear intake & front exhaust
18538-99B   Lifter, hydraulic (4)
