Corbin dual tour gap
« on: September 04, 2008, 06:48:31 AM »

So I got my Corbin yesterday.  Went to install it last night and there's a very noticeable 1/2 to 3/4 inch gap between the nose of the seat and the fuel tank with the hole on the back lined up with the fender.  Seat looks great, but even my wife thought that gap was excessive.

Maybe it was just the lighting, but I'm going to take a picture and send it to Corbin and ask WTF?

Try adjusting the rear seat tab. Moving it rearward will move the seat forward when you align the fender hole with the tab hole. Don't know if you'll pick up 3/4" though. They've been known to build these SERK seats with "not the best fit" at the nose! ;)

Rear seat tab as Howie said is usually adjutable.  Though I've seen a couple that were riveted on.

If the tab is adjustable also check the front "tongue."  Sometimes needs to be bent down a bit to allow the seat to slide as far forward as it might.

If it is the lockable one, leave the front spike and the rear saddel loose.  Put the seat on an kinda bash it around.
The carefully unlock it and tighten the front spike, check again for fit and then tighten the back saddle.

I did that to get mine to fit as good as it could...

Try making the adjustment as Hoist said. I got my Corbin in July it needed the same adjustment.I think Corbin does that way so you don't damage the tank on the first installation.JMHO. I now have a happy azz. Kb :orange: :orange:

Hoist, I owe you one.  Took the seat back off and sure enough, the attachment at the back was adjustable and the nose gap is gone.  Now I need these Germany rain clouds to pass so I can get out on the road.  I hope the rubber bumpers on the bottom break in too cause the seat sits a little crooked a the front...left side is right up against the tank, right side has a small place.

Just waiting on good weather now.

Terry Componants TV-3 for now i'll probably get a Mastertune from Doc and tweak it out, i put it on the dyno stock

so i can see before and after. Mike do the progressive shocks lower the bike? The seat brought me down a little but not

enough. Did 333 miles last Sunday FT Laud to Melbourne 95 and Federal 37mpg is that good
