How Much Over MSRP

I see alot of new 09 SERG on this site and never see a price. How much over MSRP is everyone paying for these bikes?  Thankls Doc   Dealer here has a $3000 over MSRP plus the bullchit fees on top of that. Whats Fair?

Msrp is fair...Set up and delivery fees have been added to most to the tune of $675 or so.
Try Lee at Jims in St Pete or Dorian at Gainseville.

Shop around MSRP is out there-don't buy that BS especially given the current econommic climate IMHO and the dealer prep and shipping are pure bottom line profit that's all buit into MSRP as I understand it.

Law Enforcement/Military/Firefighter discount, I'm still a reserve officer, so I got 1K under MSRP plus the misc BS fees and the extended warranty.  MSRP is out there, you may have to travel over a state or two and do some homework, but you can / will find one.

That $32k MSRP translates to over $5700 gross profit for the dealer, before any commissions on ESP, financing, insurance, or any other add-ons.  I personally believe that is more than a fair profit.

As for freight and prep, the freight charge is separate from and not included in MSRP.  If you can convince the dealer to absorb it within his already excellent gross, go for it.  Otherwise, it is at least a legitimate charge, unlike the "dealer prep" BS.  The MoCo compensates the dealer for unpacking and "prepping" the bike, so anything you pay for this is just pure additional profit.

If the local dealership is unwilling to be reasonable, there are plenty of other dealers around who will sell at MSRP all day long.  I guess it comes down to whether saving that $3k is worth a short trip.
