Enthusiast Article
« on: September 05, 2008, 03:07:54 PM »

Just read article about CVO Roadglide in HD Enthusiast magazine.
Part of the description reads: A new low-profile, two-up seat has Buffalo inserts
and matching rider and passenger backrests.
Is this and error or am I missing something. Emailed my dealer, haven't heard back.
Did I mention this is the best motorcycle I've ever owned, lol. :apple:

I saw the same thing and it is a misprint.  It only comes with passenger backrest.  If you reference the CVO brochure that was published, the bike matches it perfectly no more, no less.  There have been some pics floating about with the 110 derby cover.  This never made it to the production bike.

Agreed. No rider backrest, although it's mentioned in the owner's manual, and no 110 derby cover.

Thanks all,
I wonder if they are going to offer a matching backrest for purchase?
Seems like a good idea to me, especially since the other touring Screamin' Eagles
came with tour paks, curious.

Since the SERG is classified by the MoCo as a member of the Touring family, you would think a Tour Pak would be a logical piece of standard equipment, and even a rider backrest and a real windshield for those who like such things.  However, you are forgetting the Willy G. influence, where style is more important than function.  Besides, what the heck do you want for a measly $32k?  That missing Tour Pak and backrest are helping to pay for the 110 "upgrade" program.  Consider yourself lucky they didn't make tires optional.

All about the "image" andf the $$$! The SERK's are also in the Touring family, for those that haven't read any of my posts! ::)

The SERK 3/4 is the best Touring Bike HD ever made, but was put to market as a barhopper. They don't even offer a TP for it! And oversized glove compartments don't cut it as saddlebags! Now they replaced the SERK with a SERG, and treat it the same way! (at least youze got REAL saddlebags!) Geezerglides are built and marketed as Touring Bikes, and the other Touring Bikes are built as barhoppers! FTF!!! ::) ;) :huepfenjump3:

See part no. 51564-09, 2009 accessories cat., pg. 382. I think that's what you're looking for.

FWIW - I used the rider backrest from my '05 SEEG and it worked great. I'll get a pic up after dinner. The "pillow look" BR worked but stuck way the hell up in the air. Longer legs for a thicker seat.

They'll have a backrest and tour pack on the 2010 models......it's all in marketing. :huepfenlol2:

Don't doubt it a bit JC. That's why I'm going to hold for awhile before jumping on a chopped.

Nah, they've gotten smarter since then! Why give it away when they have no problem selling the bike as is at any asking price, and can then sell this stuff thru the P&A!!! ;)
