Now there's a man who speaks from experience. :2vrolijk_21:

They can do any of the above and have you back on the road right away.....if they're inclined to.

It may be that they have a chip on their shoulder since T Mac went out of state to buy his bike.
Shouldn't be an issue since they get paid for the warranty, but they may be taking care of the folks that bought from them first :nixweiss:

Not a good way to win over someone for the next purchase in my book, but it does happen; even today.

Sorry to hear your problem . Is the bike in Silverdale or another dealer. O by the way in my PM regarding the problems with my bike I forgot the heated grips went south also.

Yes it is at Legend.  I do not know if I will take it back I think it is worth driving to Seattle or Lynnwood to Cycle Barn.

I forgot to mention about my heated grips as well. When Chief & I (OK, Chief) were working on the bike, we noticed that when the dealer fixed the grips they wired them into the accessory switch instead of under the fairing. Nice little short cut they took that has now cost me the use of the accessory plug under the seat.

Thanks AJ I will check and make sure that they do not do this when they replace my girps.

Ask the dealer to order it as a down bike part and HD will ship it over night to them.  Or have the pipe welded and ride it till the part gets hear.  Or give you a demo to ride.

Yes I will call them at 10am this morning when they open and ask why they are not having it overnighted.  Thanks!

Is Silverdale owned by Fife?

No Legend has 2 shops one in Silverdale and one in Wenatchee.  The dealership used be owned by Destination (I think) but it was sold a couple of years ago.  I think it is time for me to just go across the water.  I have to take a Ferry to get to Seattle - not that big of a deal its just that it takes a day by the time you go over and come back.  I can be in Silverdale and back in a couple of hours.  With twin girls the 2 hour trip makes it easier.

I am going to call them this morning and ask why the part is not being overnighted - don't know why I didn't ask that question yesterday.  Once again the knowledge on this website has been priceless.  Thanks for all the help.   :2vrolijk_21:

Hope it works out so you have the bike this week, it looks like a blast of good weather and we can't be wasting these last few good days.

Well I called the dealership.  Jenn the service rep I normally work with is out so I spoke with Joshua.  He sounded all chipper knew all about my bike and the problems with my bike.  So I said to him why isn't the part being overnighted.  His tone changed his response was HD headquarters doesn't usually overnight warranty issues.  WTF - I said that sounds pretty stupid considering it is a warranty issue covered by HD.  I told him no big deal I would be in this afternoon to pick up a loaner bike - Now his tone really changed his reply was that the dealer is not the one that is not overnighting the part it is HD.  Well I said my bike has been

-----BREAKING NEWS ----- Joshua just called back...

He had good news and bad news.  Bad news is HD corporate have no y pipes.  They are back ordered and will not have more until the end of the month.  He said apparently this is a big issue with the y pipe. - If that is the case I am suprised no one here has talked about it yet.

Good news he called Columbia Harley Davidson and they have one they are going to ship overnight on Monday so it should be here Tuesday and I should have my bike back Tuesday night if not for sure on Wednesday. :orange: :mango: :bananarock:

I guess the heat issue has caused other problems too - it might not be a bad idea to check the y pipe on your bike just to be sure.

So Again I say a BIG THANKS! :2vrolijk_21: to all the advice and a special BIG THANKS to MR MAGOO :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:.

I recently had installed a set of true dual Rhineharts and I believe I have the stock pipes that came off my '08 Anniversary Ultra Classic SE at about 7,500 miles, at which time they were about 7 months old.

Contact me at GREYEGL@COX.NET if I can help you.

I haven't done any dealer work in a long while so I don't have any good info for a dealer.

I think as you found today the best bet is to communicate well and often with questions about what the dealer is doing to expedite issue like the Y pipe.

Obviously with the B/O issue you would still have been waiting next week as well had you not pressed them.

Sounds like I'd try to speak with Joshua next time and thank him for his efforts on this issue.  When I had warranty on my bike in Bellingham I had one person I talked to and he made sure things were done properly and expeditiously.

Before you go to the hassle of coming to Seattle I'd give Silverdale another shot.

If I could make a suggestion talk with Jeremy at NorthWest HD in Lacey. Great service MGR and have Jorge do the work I have 9 years experience with this dealer ship and service is very good. I might not buy a bike there but service is great.

A little over a month ago my dealer was replacing the gaskets on my 07 SEUC. They noticed the same problem, the exh. Manifold had a crack in the Y. They replaced the part. Next month I get to take the bike in for the "Campain". I just got back from a 5,000 mile ride, back to the 105th. The bike ran great and never leaked. I have had a intake leak and Exh. leak, now they are fixed the bike runs great and gets good mileage.
