I just took delivery of a Silver SERG.  In my opinion the paint quality (orange peel) is the worst I have seen on any of the 7 new HD bikes I have had.  What do you guys think??

My 09 SE Fat Bob's paint is excellent.  Haven't found a flaw yet.

There's plenty of orange peel on mine and on every other CVO bike I've seen this year.  It's comparable to the paint on my '04 CVO Electraglide and worse than my '08 CVO Springer which was amazingly good quality.

There is a SERG sitting in Cartersville Ga that has a SAND PAPER finish on the fairing!!!!!

OH and BTW it is Orange in color if someone ois looking for one.

Other than the raised emblems on the tank of my 01 the paint is very good for stock.

On my bags I buried the paint lines with more clear.

Cost the MOCO plenty! 2006 almost killed the CVO line. That was the worst year and I got one, sitting in the dealer at this moment. Just hope I have it back in riding order for next weekends Northern California GTG.

I did on a 2002 RK.. that was a no brainier though.. someone at the factory kindly left there thumb print on rear end of the tank..The dealer even worked with me on the tank, they let me order the tank without the painted badge, whereas i ended up with a two tone tank and added my notglisa badge.

not just you!  I said something about this in a differant post... I'm in the process of finishing their job...color-sanding & buffing, i have the fairing done.. the tank is next.. looking MUCH nicer... for 31k it is down right pathetic....

Is there enough clearcoat thickness to wetsand and buff??

I didn't want to start a post of this nature, but here's my 2 cents...I am getting a new fairing, the paint was sub-par and there was a blemish that almost looked like a run in the paint , and on the tank and inner fairing there is some garbage in the clear...much different from my SE Deuce which was show quality...scared about the lowers

Carlos, I HATE to hear this!  I assume it was not noticeable when you took delivery or you were sooooo silly with excitement you did not look clearly!  Very disturbing

we noticed the run/blem on the fairing in the showroom - most everyone noticed it, except of course the Q.C. guy/gal in York...and the garbage in the clearcoat was noticed when detailing...no one else sees them - I know they're there

on a related issue, there is actually an Ultra in the showroom with a different color 'red' fender on it, yes, tank,TP, front fender, hardbags one color red, rear fender - different red ...there are indeed unhappy campers in York boys and girls
