Good luck sorting through the voodoo of ergonomics. I like the seat and it positions me where I want w/ a comfortable reach for the hbars. If it fits me well then it just can't fit a bunch of other folks. 6'1"", 34" sleeve.

I'm 6'-1" with a 35" sleeve, and my '08 Road Glide was a bit ofr a stretch to the bars from the stock seat.  The moment I sat on a '09 SERG, I immediately noticed the bars were different....in a good way......not as far of a stretch (more pullback), they seemed wider, and it positioned my wrist differently.  In all, I liked how they felt.....on the showroom floor.....how that will translate into a long day on the road I have yet to find out.....where the %$^&#@! is my bike!?

I have an 07 RG. Stock bars have an 8" rise but no drop. If anything where the drop should be they angle up. As such, H-D installs them leaned back which puts the grips in the proper position but leaves no room for adjustment. You could actually install a set of 8" Chubby's and change your hand position greatly because of the drop. I installed the 10" Chubby's and pushed them forward. Twolane has the same bars on his 00 SERG pulled back more and it showed me that with the Chubby's because of the drop, there's a lot more adjustability in them. As a rule, H-D makes their bars for one position only and that's the way they set them when they assemble them. My advice for any RG riders is to try the 10" Wild 1 Chubby's.

PS
I have an 09  Black/Orange/Siver SERG on the way at Big Moose H-D in Maine . Expecting a January delivery date which means it sits in the garage till spring. No biggie, just being able to buy one is good as there are none available here in Dago.

After putting a few miles on the new SERG, I decided that I will be changing out the handlebars to the Wild1 Chubby R.G. handlebars Part# WO517. I am 5'10 and the stock bars are just ok for me, and I want them to feel great. I have the WO518's on my Road King and I am feel comfortable with additional pullback. It looks like the WO517's have 3.5" more pullback than the stock bars and another 1/2 inch height. I ride most of the time with my feet on the highway pegs so the extra pullback makes for a comfortable riding position for me.

Thanks for the replys. I installed Heritage bars on my 07 RG and felt better than stock but was left still wanting a better bar, Maybe the 09 SERG will do the trick.  Thanks Doc

I'm 5'6" and the bars sit fine with me.  Then again I do not like the bars that close!  My elbows are bent some.  No issues.  I rode a buddies 06 RG with Heritage bars and they are too close...felt wierd in corners especially!
