Guy I know claims he got a down load at dealer into his stock ECM that sets an otherwise stock bike up to use V&H true duals. Does this sound probable? He is running it as is until he can save his pennies to buy the exhaust.

Not very likely unless they sold him a SERT/SUPER SERT and then loaded one of the maps that comes with it.  The actual downloads from H-D using Digital Technician are limited to street legal calibrations, and I seriously doubt H-D is doing those for other companies exhaust systems.

Is it possible he got one for a fatboy? Don't they have duals without a crossover?  Seems like when the 06's came out, several guys were using downloads for them. Maybe it was the RT also. Been too long for me to remember.  CRS

06 was the last year (to my knowledge) that you could get the Digital Tech, or "cartridge" downloads for certain combos, regardless of model.  Example: my 06 SEUC had the ECM download for SE A/C and SE mufflers...I think it cost about $150 bucks.

I doubt VERY seriously if HD dealers offer any "canned" maps unless you purchase the SERT and pull one from the CD.
