Another OOOPS by the MOCO--- SERG tourpack
« on: September 13, 2008, 10:49:45 PM »

Well, bad news!!!   I picked up the tour pack today and just cracked the box to make sure it was the right color.  Got it home and broke it out...well, theres a crack in the paint forward right leading edge of the top, the hinge bolts did not have the end cap screw so they slid out and the holding screw for the bottom of the lanyard is missing too.  Some misc bolts (probably for mounting) were rolling around loose along with an adapter bracket.  Called the dealer and they are calling corporate to see what they can do.  I was going to take it to the Grand Canyon this Friday but there's no way the wife will ride that distance with that little backrest.
The inspection stickers show that this was painted in June!  And then assembled and QA'd the 13th of August.

a.)  :worthless:

b.) The dates would make me suspicious as to that the item was already sold, used, returned, repackaged ...

But you know what I'd do is take pic's show the dealer and use it until the new one arrived, if it's useable at all! atleast you'd have something for the wife to lean against.( A happy wife is a happy life :huepfenlol2:)

I have just purchased my first HD, a FLTRSE3; couple weeks ago. The problems, all "the real ol time HD folks" are having with everything from leaking gaskets, mismatched parts, broken promises, lies, and false cures, etc...  leads me to believe, I have just made one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

The rice burners I have been riding, made all the HP and TQ I wanted, with a simple air box and exhaust change. Add a DnyoJet PC and presto 100HP and 112FT/LBS. Sure I spent a fortune on chrome and paint, but that was a no brainer, I didn't loose any sleep over it.

To think I sold this (below) for half what I had in it, only to purchase a $32,000 80HP, 90ft/lb headache...... I just wanted to be apart of the American Dream like the rest of you......  Think I'm going to be sick..... I will depend on you guys to help me down the road...... Thanks in advance

It'll work out fine. If it's made by man it's gonna have issues. G.W.s have their problems, H. D.s theirs. I've not suffered the 110 problems yet but if they come we'll deal w/ them (under extended warranty). There''s a lot of folks w/ a lot of miles and it's been "priceless."

Iglide;  Where did you get your info on the 110?  The info I see is mid 90's HP and 115 lbs of torque at 4k rpm.  Yea, there are some small issues which piss each individual off but on the other hand Production was running behind and the MOCO is trying to get the 09's out as fast as possible.  This is a close knit family so everything is amplified.
This bike is stock.  I'll be adding Fullsac cores which will add another 9 HP to it without a download!  As it is I do not have any complaints about the power or torque.

Thanx for sharing the picture. When reading your post, a couple of questions come to mind:
a.) Why did you sell your bike?
b.) What issues do you actually have with your H-D?
c.) Do you realize that you are posting in the Road Glide threat?   :jack:

In any case, ride safely!

Sorry for the rant; prior to, I had spent a couple hours on the Twin Cam thread reading about the 110.
Took a chill pill and got over it.

If problems with this engine arise, I will deal with it.

Back to business...

At least when you go to sell your Screamin Eagle you wont have to sell it for half of what you have in it, like your Jap bike. If nothing more you will love the resale value!

:lolk: What would you say my pristine, 22,000-mile 2004 SEEG that I have north of $40,000 invested in is worth? :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2:

The problem occurs when you consider a bike (any bike!) an investment..........these are depreciating assets, so get out there and ride.
