GAS TANK EMBLEM POOR QUALITY
« on: September 14, 2008, 07:06:01 PM »

I was in Tomahawk this weekend and noticed that the two SERG demos and the display bike had either broken or bent  emblems.  It is like the sharp points are not glued to the tank and get snagged on clothes or cleaning rags etc.  I looked at both sides of the emblem on all the bikes and they are not tight to the tank.  Anyone else noticed this.

This is really bad... I think they would break off easily or tear the whole emblem off. PRETTY CHEEZE....

My front edge is bent as well, arrived from the moco that way.  It's just the edge thats not glued, It looks like it would be difficult to put the adhesive on that area.  I believe it's a design flaw as well as a quality issue.  But you just got to be careful not snag it.

I remember seeing that in your pictures.  How are they resolving it for you?  New emblem or new tank?   :nixweiss:

I too remember seeing the pictures but I did not realize the problem until I saw it live...  Makes one wish the would have painted it.

I talked with the Service Manager, he is ordering a new emblem and trying that route first.  I think it won't be too much of a problem, just getting it in is the issue!  No telling how long it will take.

Just walked out to feel the texture of the beautiful paint lines on the tank of the classic SERG.  Hmmm; what emblem :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2: ?

Who; me  ?

Got to admit the tank emblem is really poor qualiity and the sharp point not being close  and glued are easily damaged.

I am sure MOCO will replace them free... NOT
