Welcome aboard from central Illinois! One word of warning though, this site tends to cost members lots of $$ in upgrades. If there is something out there for your bike, you will hear about it here.

Yes,  along with CRS Syndrome (cant remember sh*t)  I also have ADD (Accessory Diese Dysfunction)  :huepfenjump3:

So many members abroad!!! Very cool!

Deaf, sorry about your accident.  I'm glad your head is on straight.  My brother had a similar incident in June last year.  Still recuperating but pretty much accepted the fact he'll never own another Harley.  Welcome to the forum from western NY!  :cherry:

Wanted to introduce myself and a proud new owner of a 2008 SERK!

This was a replacement for my softail that went to Hog Heaven due to a woman broadsiding me while talking on the phone...  Weeks in the hosp with multiple leg fractures have not been a good time.  But I must say my gear saved my ass...  She hit me right on the engine guard and pinned it back on my ankle... Had better days....

Spent a long time chroming and personalizing the heritage out,  and a day after getting 80Spokes,  it was all over.... That killed me!!!.

Have been looking for a new ride for the months I have been recouping (still 10+ months before I can ride)  and looked at everything from springers to streetglides... Always loved the RK.  Freinds went to the 105th and told me about the ABS demonstration,  and I was then sold....  Ever since I saw them when they came out I wanted a SERK,  but the $$$ was beyond me...

I was stalking at my local dealer when he told me about some guy who just traded in a bike to a independant dealer....  2008 SERK,  6k+ in chrome and performance work etc...  231 Miles and they wanted $27k.....  Needless to say eventho I really was just shopping I didnt have a choice...  CVO made me do it!!!!!

She will sit in the garage till the doc clears me.  Still have a few surgeries to go,  but I am 99% sure I will get back on the horse.  But in the meantime I have something waiting for me :)

I am worried about the recalls,  as I cant take her to the dealer till next year...  Couldnt get the Harley extended,  but got one from Pinnacle that covers the same for 7 years...

Worse case,  I am sure someone on this board will take her next year for 25k... (NOT!)

Glad I found this group,   as the posts I have made have gotten great response!  Talking about the accident helps alot too...

I do have a post asking for reccomendations on gear,  as this time $$ is no object in covering my arse!!!

Welcome from Texas and glad that you are on the road to recovery....You will really enjoy your new bike and hopefully many years of safe riding....

Hi, deaf1-

Sorry to hear about your incident - way too many cell phone usin' drivers out there.  I hope you get back up to speed soon.  I have an '08 SERK as well.  I think you will like it a lot.  Very smooth ride, great brakes and gobs of power.  Oh, and it looks pretty good, too!  Take care!
