"Unfortunately I must admit that I know nothing about such a book or letter (not After Sales related), but will pass the info and your question on to marketing."

I got my book and was very impressed with it's quality.

I think it was a very good idea and an unexpected and appreciated gesture!!

Got my letter several weeks ago and got the book yesterday (with the indirect apology letter). Book is really nice - but would be nicer if my bike was in it! Gonna wait 'til later on in the year (really cold weather) to get the work done, tho.

Got mine last week while I was out of town on business.  My wife kept describing the package to me on the phone but I remained bewildered.  When I opened it, I scanned the letter quickly trying to find the part where Harley may be offering that "I could keep the book and my credit card (on file with the local dealership) would be charged 4 equal monthly payments of $29.99, or I could simply return the book without any obligation."

But to my amazement, it was "gift" for my 'loyalty' and inconvenience regarding the Product recall (to replace the heads/Automatic Compression Release, etc.)

I cannot ever recall Harley simply "giving" anything away not associated with a purchase threshold (buy $200 accessories and get a free detailing kit - with bucket.)

When you think about, this is almost scary!  What's next?  Dealer inventory price reductions on 09's below MSRP in order to contribute to the sluggish economy??

Thay didn't give chit away! Most will think they're just AOK cause they did that. But instead of giving you a real engine, they gave you a cheap assed book instead, so you can forget that they don't know how to design engines anymore! Don't throw away the rags you wipe those oil leaks up with though!!! They got youze all fooled!!! Not me!!! FTF!!! ;)

After getting my new heads installed, the bike runs great. Dealer did a great job getting me in within a week and a one day turnaround. Then I got a book from Harley for my troubles in the mail this week. It's being released soon. "Archive Collection". It was a CVO special edition. Glad they are standing behind the bike and acknowledging the poor experience the owners had.

I think I saw your bike on the rack, Granite Mountain HD?  Chip was working on it, best mechanic around, imo.

That's interesting.  Maybe all 07's and 08's are getting them (except Hoist!)
