R.I.P. Dennis Hammer - a good friend

I was pulling out of the driveway on my way to Florida this morning when the phone call came. A friend had called to say he just saw a horrific accident involving a scooter that looked like our friend... would I please call his house to check on him. There was no answer. I went to the hospital where I was told he didn't make it.
Dennis was an active member of the Savannah HOG chapter. He rode an '07 Ultra with a sidecar. Just this past weekend volunteered multiple times for the State Rally. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back.
I'm not going to speculate even though I spoke to the responding officer personally. All I can say is that he was wearing his helmet and was hit from behind.
I just needed to vent.

Very sorry to learn of the loss of your friend, AJ.  My sincerest condolences and prayers for his family & friends.  May he rest in peace.



Will not post anything in regard to the details of the accident out of respect to you & your friend, with the exception that cage drivers who are not looking out for us are causing more grief than they can ever imagine.

This is the first time I actually looked at the newspaper article. If you click on the picture, you can see the damage to the vehicle that hit him.
