If I do not want to buy a new oil line (chrome), can I remove the rubber piece at the base of the line near the filler without any problems occurring? see photo

If you remove it, you have to replace it with a stainless braided line to make it look better.  There is no pressure in this oil line, just a oil return/vent line.

To cover mine up, I went with the chrome MOCO cover that hides the metal part of the line as well as the rubber hose you don't like.

Boatman,
I don't think that cover fits an 06' FLHTCUSE, correct me if I'm wrong. I would hope it would, going to check the catalog.

That looks great on your bike, however!

Spend the $35-40 and get the chrome hard line and be done with it.

If I do not want to buy a new oil line (chrome),

Already listing all this, "06' FLHTCUSE Black Candy Crimson / Slate, SE High Flow Air Breather, Rinehart True Duals, SE Race Tuner, Kuryakyn LED Turn Signals, Harley LED Tail Light, Hawg-Wired "Four in the Face" audio, Detachable Tour Pak, Various Chrome Add-Ons."  Now thinking about trying to jury rig a connection on the oil line?  It's easy to change.  Half hour chore.  And, relative to the price of most chrome, it is moderately priced.

Would guess that a piece of brainded line and a couple of chrome clamps would end up costing close to the same by the time mail costs were factored in.  Could just go off the deep end and do this line.

What's with the ugly aluminum nuts?  Chrome line and fittings but no nuts?
