755 miles, flying to Atlanta, driving to MV on Friday(no bike), I guess everyone will still be around.
My qualms were folks bailing early...

I don't want to miss dinner at the WTT as Dale is going west...I imagine we'll press on.
I'll check with the war department...

I have participated in runs where the weather sucked and yes it's hard riding in the rain, especially if you've got a long way to go. BUT, the upside is you cannot put a price on the camaraderie you share when you do a ride in inclement weather together. We had a crappy day on one of our group rides during the Sedona run and rather than be miserable, we were all kindred souls and shared a hundred laughs about it, some good natured dissing of Nelson for planning the route and a lot of good cheer once back at the resort. Weather would not make me miss MV if I was within 400 miles of it. No way no how. Those in attendanc will be if not already, close friends when it's over

Just my $0.02

Where were you for the Nor Cal Tour?  T-shirt weather all but the first day but we had great comraderie every time we stopped and put down over 2,000 miles on that ride.  You should have joined us........

Foul weather makes fond memories.  If the ride was perfect, in perfect weather it would tend to fade from memory.  However shared adversity makes an indelible imprint on our memories and as time moves on we look back on them fondly, probably much more fondly than they actually were at the time but that is ok.

Mike,

You will certainly want to get the fuel option for the rental car and avoid looking for gas around Atlanta when you return the car!  Pretty hard to get gas in Atlanta right now.

I'm just east of the ATL (22 miles) no problems out here today, more have it than don't.  I'm just worried about the weather.

Can we all take Chips new cycle on a break in ride for him?  Is there a sign up list or do we just show up?   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

We had planed a 400 mile round trip but it was raining. We went anyway and we still talk about how much fun we had and who hade the crappist rain suit.  So ride on (slow) and be careful. Wish I could have made it, maybe next time.

when are you flying in?  I'm leaving my house around 9-930 depending on my wife.  maybe we can hook up along the way.  I'm only 20 miles from the atl airport.

Since the tour pack didn't show, I "borrowed" a luggage rack and installed the new mounting hardware for the tp and luggage rack.  I'm gtg and can't wait to hit the road.  I also bought Jennifer a rain suit!!!  She all for it if I am, that's a partner!!!
