Ok.  So in my last post I said no bailout and I stand by that.  But here's how I fix the economy without starting a war.

No "Handout" money like the last time.  Instead fund solar panel manufacture in all the closed auto and other manufacturing plants we can.  700 billion should get us started.  Give 100% tax credit to any one who installs them. Include installation labor and cost of materials in the credit.  Only american made panels and american construction companies will count towards the tax credit.  So if I spend 10,000 to do it I get 10,000 off my tax bill.  If I owe less the 10,000 in taxes carry it over till it's paid off.  Loans to cover initial investment can be made repayable by income tax refund checks.  IE, sign the loan paper and the Fed sends your refund right to the bank.  This gets the banks to loan money that's very secure and they make money.

Pass a law exempting the federal governement from environmetal lawsuites.  Congress can pass all kinds of laws exempting themselves from other rules and laws they can do this if they have the balls.  Now, take the closed military bases located far away from cities and lease them to oil companies and require them to build clean refineries with the windfall profits.  When the envirowackos sue, show them the law exempting them.  Once people get jobs where they build the refineries they'll stop whining.  Take the money from the leases to cover the tax break given to the solar panel project.

Finally, take the closed bases close to cities and lease them to the power companies and require them to build nuclear power plants.  When the envirowackos sue, show them the law exempting them.  Use this power for the cities where there aren't enough roof spaces to  generate enough solar power.  Take the money from the nuclear leases and fund fuel cell research for autos.

This creates lots of jobs, improves the environment because we burn much less fossil fuel and stimulates the economy by creating on shore jobs and giving the banks an almost guarenteed stream of loan revenue.

Oh and best of all, since we won't need the oil for the cars or electricity... We can tell the Middle East to go F itself, without doing tons of drilling and we get lot's of gas at cheap prices for our CVOs, which by law of course I would exempt from ever using a fuel cell.

Very simple.  The majority of the "toxic loans" were hustled into the Fannie and Freddie debacle via social engineering.  Leading the charge was the likes of Barney Frank and Maxine Waters whose socialistic views encouraged government supported home ownership for everyone.  Most of the people involved had neither the intelligence or experience to realize what they were committing to, but knew another give-a-way program had landed in their laps.  Couple that with super thief Frank Raines (Obama's committed choice for Secretary of the Treasury) lending money to unemployed minorities to meet his bonus numbers on loans and the rest is unfortunate history.  Hard to believe, but the US is not about working 2 jobs, saving and scrimping to own a home anymore.  It's all about you and I supporting the increasing lazy masses breeding even more hands out in the freebie lines.....

Now there is the most intelligent response posted to this situation, thus far.  There is nothing that can be added to it, with the exception of what my Dear Ol' Departed Pappy said, before he left this Cruel World.  "If your expenses exceed your income, your assets in jail."  Each and every American Registered Voter, with the intelligence to turn a light on in the dark, should write, call, or e-mail his or her, Local, State, and Federal Representatives, and tell these elected officals exactly how you feel about how this Great Nation is being governered.  535 or 565, of these elected officials are making, and enforcing, and presenting new Laws that 300,000,000+ of us have to abide and live by.  I do it, but I'm just one voice in the darkness.  I do it constantly.  I'm a Small Businessman, but I have more than 100 Employees, depending on me and Gary Kale for their livelihood.  We don't take that lightly.  The mess we are in has been created by the Kennedys, Rockefellers, Boxers, Waters, Jacksons, Sharptons, Rangals, Obamas, Byrds, Rahalls, Schumers, Franks, and the list goes on of these liberal c##ksu##ers, that have ruined this Great Nation with handouts and chit like affimative action.  No body gave me a dam quarter.  I worked for every dam dime of it.  And my GOVERNMENT does everything it can to take it away from me.  They are anti-businesss, and that's a natural fact.  Dam it, stand up and be counted.  Quit laying back and saying chit like "Ain't this a dam shame."  DO something.  If you don't, you are Anti-American, and you deserve to go down the tubes with the rest of the sorry a$$ed population.    I'm mad as hell, and I aint gonna' take it no more!  Vote 'em OUT, dammit!  There endeth the lesson. Hub I have to agree with you. The problem that we have today is the financial problem is so bad they (Congress) had to try something to fix it. I disagree with the bill and I don't think it will help. Except to put more money in the pockets of the people that created this mess in the first place. I still am wondering how much it will cost the tax payer. The US GOVERNMENT sure doesn't have it. I will be paying for this for the rest of my natural life!

There are so many gullable people in this world today. They look at someone like Obama who is younger and clean cut. Without knowing anything about his veiws or his voting record or even his personel life they are going to vote for him. This is not only in the Presidential race but other races also. Or the friend who is voting one way and his or her best friend will vote the same way because WE ARE FRIENDS and I am a follower and you always do the right thing!!!!

When the economy finally takes the big chit those dumb asses will look around and not have a FU^%ING clue of what or how it happened.

I work two jobs. I enjoy working two jobs. I have done it most of my life. Sure I complain when I am tired that I need to give it up. But I still have not. I have bills to pay and want to to it on my own without any help from MY GOVERNMENT!!!!! Unless you count my Government job as helpinng out! I also believe in social programs to some extent. There are community programs for the kids of working parents and I support them. That is why I go to these parks in the city and cook up a big BBQ for some of the parties the city puts on. A lot of times I do it for free. Yet I still do not complain (EXCEPT FOR BEING TIRED) I am just sitting here wonder WHEN IS THIS COUNTRY GOING TO WAKE UP? Before it is too late I hope.

Do you really think that if corporate taxes ended tomorrow we would see a price drop even within a year? Consumers get accustomed to prices and don't look for a drop.

Exxon Mobil - record profits in the history of the world and yet gas has still gone up and over $4 a gallon.

We will never be away from being taxed, all we need to do is make it fair - flat tax for everyone.

You make a little you pay a little, you make a lot you pay a lot (ind if it was a fair number the "lot" would probably be less then the pre-loophole rates).

I would just like to see this country keep our money inside our borders. Stop giving it away to the rest of the world that hates us but tries to sneak in at every opportunity.

Of course, if our economy tanks, we won't have nearly enough money to buy all the CRAP that China manufactures and sells us - so it may be poetic justice that their economy contracts with us...   It si in their interest to loan us money and keep us healthy - without us they have no one to sell to.  (Japanese buy Japanese made products, Germans buy German made products, the US buys Chinese CRAP - WTF is wrong with us?)
