Got my new Screamin Eagle air cleaner, that requires a "reflash" according to the catalog. I really did not get a detailed answer from the service department at the dealership on what was done. They say that the factory won't tell them what changes the reflash has on the ecm. I would just like to know what parameters were changed (if any). I paid $199.82 for this "upgrade".
The invoice says:
"Before
for "Part Number: 34245-09", Calibration ID: 32935-09A"
"After:
"Part Number: 34245-09, Calibration ID: 34462-09"
Description of New Calibration:
Street legal performance calibration, Use with ECM'S labeled: 34245-08, etc.etc.
Requires High-Flow or Heavy Breather air cleaner, stock or street performance exhaust..
Now, the question: I was led to believe that this "upgrade/reflash" would help the excessive heat issue on the '09 Ultra's and give a little better performance. I took an overnighter last weekend, and really did not notice any changes before spending $$$$ to solve a heat issue. I am wondering if anyone else has any experience in this area of "high heat" on the -09's (and 08's I'm told!). I guess I'll just leave the lowers off, the mid-frame deflectors on, and ride the bike in the winter!
On another note, the bike handles much better than my 95 EVO!!!!
