UK Tuner
« on: October 06, 2008, 09:44:14 AM »

Help needed!

I am having some work done on my '07 SERK and need to locate a good tuner to help address the SERT/Powercommander issue and do the necessary Dyno. Can anybody make a recommendation or point me in the right direction? Distance is no problem but ideal preference is for a tuner in the South East.

Thanks in advance  :coolblue:

Can anyone help?

If there is anybody out there that knows of a good tuner in the UK that can help with the SERT/PC issue and do the necessary dyno's that would be a great help.

Thanks in advance - Magellan  :coolblue:

Ok, ok so nobody knows of a good tuner in the UK - so can we widen this out to Europe!

Does anybody know a GOOD tuner in Europe?  If anybody would like to post a reply other than me - than please feel free!

Thanks in advance - Magellan  :coolblue:

Hi Magellan
zurich is a bit out of ur way, so her is my 2cents as u have had no responces.
i had mine tuned by a dealer chief mech who i thought was a good tuner, experienced with racing, was recommended by a few people etc, i thought he did a good job as the bike obviously has more power now than b4, albeit fuel consumption detiorated. Anyway i took bike to another dealer to have 16000km service, told SM dont do any ecm updates as i have a custom map, when i went to collect bike, mech came to me and said i hooked ur ecm up to do an update ARRHH! as the motor runs pretty rough, realised u had a custom map so didnt do anything else!  PHEW! Asked me to take in my super sert so he can smooth out the running, he said he has seen a few springer motors running rough like mine and he knows exactly what to do. IMHO my motor runs ok as i expect a harley to be a lil rough, am used to my dyna motor wobbling around like a jelly on a plate.

When my upgrade kit arrives i will give him my bike and he will make the neccessary adjustments.

This guy adjusted the carb and ignition on my wifes 2001 nighttrain, he got that spot on, she often gets nearly 400km on a tank of fuel, where as all my bikes need gas at 300km.

Hi ice6900, thanks for that.

Glad to hear from somebody - thought I was just shouting in the wind!!!

Zurich is not too far if the tuner is worth the visit. In fact passed close by on recent trip to Lake Garda. Trying to get the best out of any bike definitely requires going outside the HD Dealer network and that seems to be the problem over here!

I will watch to see if anybody else has anything to say, otherwise I may be back in touch for some contact details.

Harley-Davidson/Buell in Hannover has a very good Dynojet expert. I had very good results with two 110's already. I do not know, if this is out of your way, but I can hook you up, if necessary. You might also try http://www.dynojet.co.uk/ .

Ride safely,

Be careful what you say. The site owner is a huge BoSox fan and would take serious umbrage at any reference to the Yankees

Thanks for that Louis. I will certainly consider Hannover as I would rather go to a shop that has been: (a) recommended, (b) has some previous experience of HD's (and preferably 110's).

I appreciate the assistance.

Thanks Hoist. I did contact Nige - but unfortunately he had his bike Dynoed in the States on a trip to Sturgis. He did recommend the guy, but that is just a little too far for me!!!

Mags - I think Nige is from the Northeast, not sure if you fancy the journey.  France/Holland may be a better bet.
