09SEUC Handlebar Reach
« on: October 07, 2008, 01:44:17 PM »

My local dealer just received a Beautifull Blue/Silver 09SEUC.
It looked with the new frame that it was on like it was stretched out.
After sitting on the bike, it is a real reach with the Stock Seat and Handlebars for me as compared to my 08SEUC.
I am 6ft tall with a 35 Sleeve Length, and as I stated it is a real reach for me sitting in the seat and reaching the grips.
Has anyone noticed this? :nixweiss:

I have not set on a 09 SEUC yet.  I have changed the handlebars on my last two bikes (08 SEUC & 02 Ultra).

I did set on a 09 RG a few days ago.  Sure did set high... about as high as my 08 SEUC when I first got it.

You get a brand new $35k bike and have to change handlebars and suspension to ride it :nixweiss:

I have a 09 cuse4 and my .02$ is that it does feel like you sit on top of the scoot than in it ,  my flhx feels like I am sitting in it   ;).But I will adjust in time,I do think it is that seat contributing to this feel, have a sundowner on the X         ;D

I would agree with you planenut.
I would find it necessary to change out seat, and possibly handlebars to get a more relaxing fit.
B-Y-W you have a beautifull Bike!
Do you agree with the better handling that MOCO states for this Updated Frame?

I agree.  Also have an 09SEUC.  After adjusting the backrest so that it fits my lower back position.  I have to admit that my hands rest about half way down on the grips.  Have been told that most all law enforcement have the Heritage Handlebars installed on their bikes.  Had to also purchase the wrap around highway peg mounts to get them in closer also.  feels some better now with the back rest and highway pegs corrrected.  but sure would feel better if the floorboards where a little lower and more forward.  and if the handle bars where a little closer.  Just hate to have to spend more money.  guess I will just get use to the handlebars.  to much $$ for me have to change them out.

yes i holy agree ,it does handle much better than my 07 FLHX and that has had suppension work

and thank you for the kind words, just add my monster ovals and is a show stopper, and people stopper, adding a few items every night for the look change

Its funny how a bike that is suppost to be complete is truely never done,

Like I have told people you are always 2K from being done

If I can help with any more questions, let me know

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy the paint on your scooter!  :)

One reason why I probably like it so much is because it is so close to my favorite paint scheme,....BLACK...with highlights of another dark color!  :)

Thanks for sharing with us!

I ordered a Wild 1 Chubby 12.5 inch bagger bar for my 09 FLHTCUSE4 in raw finish. Should be installed in a week or two after I get them powder coated in Ruby Red to match my bike. I'll let you know how they feel but as you know, everything custom is all personal taste.

I put the Wild 1 chubby 575 Bagger Bar on my '06 SEUC.  Big improvement and more ergonomically correct.  I ran across these the other day the think they might do the trick too.
