That was lame Gary, even for you  :P

Moose meat is excellent. Not as gamey as deer, more like Buffalo in my opinion but depending on what cut is ground for the burger, leaner still than Buffalo

A tenderloin from one of those big suckers has gotta go 20lbs doesn't it ?

I ballpark the backstraps at around 30 to 40 and the tenderloins were in that 15 to 20 ballpark.

It's tough to get the meat back home so I just got backstrap, tenderloin, a few steaks and two roasts of the hind quarter.  Our guide is First Nation and he takes the bulk of the meat to Dawson and the elders distribute it throughout the village.

I'd say depending on the particular bull, that moose is in general better than elk but it's really splitting hairs, they are both great and the buffalo comparison is a good one.

No fat, dark meat, do not overcook :2vrolijk_21:

Hi Roger and welcome home.  I was wondering where you were.  Thought maybe you had left the Continent.  Good to see you supporting the Canadian economy eh??  Thanks for the great shot.

Take care, Moe

Thanks for the pics, Rog.  Glad you had a great vacation.  I bet it's hard to return to the real world after that trip.  I hope when you have time, you post a bunch more.  And can you get me a few of those bumper stickers?  I have two sons in college that definitely need one.

Cheers,
V

Found the bumper sticker V, order them here:  http://www.bumperart.com/ProductDetails.aspx?SKU=2004080226&productID=6660

Great pictures Roger - though I'm a Canuck, I've never been that far North.  Absolutely stunning.

Hmmmmmm now I learned something from this post I didn't know. All Canadians are Canucks ?  I thought only the ones from Quebec were. The Canuck/Cajun connection is well documented and the key component in it I thought was being of French Ancestry. I thought all you western province english speaking Canadians were manifest destiny Americans with broken compases  :huepfenjump3:

Heck B B, the damn hockey team in BC is the Canucks :2vrolijk_21:

I almost qualify too, but I missed the border by about 20 miles here in Bellingham.

BB,
Though I'm not the definitive authority on all terms Canadian, its my understanding this term "Canuck" has nothing whatsoever to do with the Province of Quebec and those of the Franco persuasion.  The term Canuck is not unlike the term "Yank" for USA citizens.  Sort of cool that you guys have a ball team named the Yankees and we a have hockey team called the Canucks...go figure.

I always thought Canuck was the flipside of Cajun

So you non Franco Canadians don't mind being called Canuck ?

Well that's cool, cause I know some BoSox fans that would take umbrage to being called Yankees  :D
