Do you have to dump the catch can every so often or does it just evaporate?

I introduced this thing on the forum a few months ago and posted several photos of it, but I had very little experience with it at the time. Having just returned from a 2,000 mile week-long trip (where I accidently met some great forum members), I have a lot more experience with it, and I'm going to remove it and route the hose to the ground.
In theory, it is a good idea. But let me tell you...you will have to dump the oil/water mixture at every fillup or you will have a big mess...like I did. And sometimes dumping it at every fillup is not often enough. What the can catches is a nasty grey mixture of oil and water. While the can holds a few ounces, in reality if you get over a couple of tablespoons in it it begins to blow back out the filter that rests on top. This action causes dust to collect rapidly on the front of the filter and causes it to clog quickly, again causes the "mess" to pump back out of the filter and blow back over the bike.
To get me throught the trip, I drained the can into some paper towels every time I gassed up. This thing is WAY more trouble than it's worth...at least on a long trip...so I'm taking the aggravating thing off soon. The best thing that came out of using the can is that I got to see all of the nasty crap that was being sucked back into the throttle body, and I know I don't want that again, so I'll just route the host to the ground.
Good luck with yours Naitram...maybe it will won't be as nasty as mine is...
