Code Reader
« on: October 09, 2008, 12:47:36 PM »

A ways back this spring my red "Key" was lighting up - arbitrarily, no pattern or apparent cause.  Did the code read and you all determined that '03 codes do not tell you much via the speedo reading.

Well, its doing it again and I am getting increased back firing and decel pops when down shifting, even when I am up shifting sometimes - getting concerned.

Is there an aftermarket Code Reader or am I at the mercy of the stealership to tell me what the the underlying cause is/reason for the fault?

I have a Map from the SERT section for a 103 with similar upgrades that my bike has - might that clear a code when I apply the new map?

Intalling a new map will not reset codes.  There is a way to pull the codes without a scanalyzer.  The attached doc is how I get the codes from my 04 and 05 SEEG and it may or may not work for you.

;D Thanks for the code's...  I just had my bike back in after the "upgrade" to redo the "upgrade"  >:( Rear jug leaking worse than when I brought it in :nixweiss: Anyway when I picked up the bike the first time about a mile down the road the check engine light came on?  then went off in about 5 miles. Then it would come on and go off. ect.ect.

So when I picked up my bike after the redo of the "upgrade" and to check out why the warning light came on.  I asked them about the check engine light? They told me no big deal, we just cleared out a code in the speedo, you should be fine. let us know if you have any more problems. I asked what was the code for? It was in the speedo you'll be fine not to worry. Seemed very fishy to me >:(  I'm still attempting to get the code out of them but they seem to keep avoiding that that!  WTF

You have the SERT, in Data Mode you can read the codes yourself......

The red key is an indication of an issue with the TSSM / Security Module. It is not ECM related. Do you have aftermarket signals on the bike?

Yes there is a reader for the codes availible from Daytona Twin Tec. It is what i use here at the shop and works very well.

you Sir are obviously color blind, and somewhat mentally impaired...  Please at the earliest convenience check yourself into an institution of some nature where they can help with your issues!

Sean, definitely mental. My RED(THE FASTEST & BEST RUNNING) CVO is outside my office in very sunny weather & I'm inside doing paper crap. Impaired? Not yet. I also can't find an institution to take me. What colour did you say your bike was? THE MUFFMAN
