FLHTUCI Conversion
« on: October 15, 2008, 12:06:40 AM »

when converting a non SE Ultra to detachable backrest, does any know if I need to move the amp like you do in the Screamn' Eagles?  I just bought an 07 Ultra and was wondering if it was needed, because I cant find an amp under the Tour Pak.

Don'tcha just hate it when that happens. Sorry Tom, I think it's only 40 watts.

Just unplug the speakers and don't let the wire ends short to each other or ground. The radio will play through the front speakers or helmet set. The radio puts 10 watts to each speaker. Unplugging the rear will not increase or decrease the power or control of the front.

You only have to worry about what you're going to do with the antenna wires (radio and CB), tour pak light wires and your speaker wires.  Some people just "cap" them off and bundle them under the seat.  Then when they put the tour pak on, they just lift the seat and re-attach all the wires.  I don't know how much you use your radio, but you might want to consider putting the hidden antenna into your fairing so that you don't have to do the antenna relocation mount for when you don't have the tour pak on.  Just some thoughts.
