front and rear pulley replacement
« on: October 17, 2008, 08:59:46 PM »

thinking about going to differant front pulley and  rear pulley also. Not sure what to use as i think what i want for the  rear pulley is from the 06 baggers and is  for a wide belt. will also  need a belt i believe?i think   the 30  front sproket and the 70 rear  will be a 3.15 fear and will increase the  RPMS 300 RPM? Also what is good for recalibrating the speedo??
            Thanks                                    Happy

just trying to get the 07 CVO Roadking to have a more useable 6th gear! think maybe the  70 tooth is a bit much with a  30 tooth front sproket. may  only  go to a 30 up front and and do a HDI  belt and call it good. also  looking at  doing a differant setup than i have now.  it has a 650 lift  cam  and i want  to make it  as streetable, as i can. the cam is not really that wild,  but when we get into a bit more power, things change in the streetablity. also would want to correct the speedo and not sure what is out there for the latemodels.

This has been posted before, but EVO Industries has either motor sprockets of clutch basket sprockets that will do the same thing.

To do the rear sprockets and belt you have to pull the clutch anyway, why not just stop there?  This does NOT affect your speedometer calibration like the rear pulleys will.

I can't think change belt, front or rear pulley will be any cheaper than this.  They get $324.00 for the starter ring gear and the basket sprocket assembly.  You can also get a complete bolt in clutch assembly with a bit more muscle.

I think this sprocket set gets you in the 6% reduction range.  (stock at 1.353 and with the 49t sprocket kit you have 1.441) This will help two up starts and also give you a few more rev's at the high end in 6th gear.

Just something to think about before you go with the pulley changes.
