Rush slip ons - Now what
« on: October 18, 2008, 01:18:59 AM »

Hi,
I bought my FXDSE2 and had the Rush Slip-On pipes installed when purchased.  I really like the sound, but was wondering what I should add next.  Would a PCIII and K&N Filter be enough?  Or should I consider buying different pipes (I really like the looks of the V&H Big Radius,) doing the Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather, and a fuel processor?  If I do add a processor, can I just download one of the maps from the PCIII website, or will I have to have the system remapped (an additional $400?)
Thanks,
Brian

Damm! :o

I had 2.25" in mine, and it was nice and LOUD!!!!!
it must sound good with 2.50" baffles in them! :pepper:

don't ride the bike before you get some kind of tuner on that thing! :(
you were already running lean before they put the Rush mufflers on, now your running even MORE lean because the exhaust path has been opened up!
you're dealer should have reccomended some kind of tuner when they installed the Rush mufflers..... ;)  (Shame on them)

either get a SERT, PCIII or SOMETHING...... ASAP! :2vrolijk_21:

checkout the TTS Tuner (similar to the SERT), it has more capeability than the SERT and costs less....
if you have a computer available, you can tune the bike yourself, no need to pay $400.00 for a tune..

you WILL do enging damage if you don't get that AFR richened up... :nervous:

SERT is the only option I would suggest, it truly does what its supposed to. the others, PC, fuel pak, et al, merely trick the system. Plus maybe a plug change would help. colder plug wont burn fuel as fast

I would have recomended the same thing until i saw the TTS MasterTune..

It's made by the same people that made the SERT before super SERT came out, but it does more than the old SERT or the new Super SERT....

it's worth looking into. :2vrolijk_21:

Yes, I should have said a Super Tuner, found out yesterday that it's the "new" thing.

I would still pick the TTS MasterTune over the SERT.

I agree with what has already been said, but PC does the job. I emailed them the other day and a new unit is comming out in a couple weeks that will program on the fly.
That would be nice.

Hello all,
I went ahead and purchased the Harley SCREAMIN EAGLE Pro EFI Super Tuner #32109-08A.  I also purchased a Harley SCREAMIN Eagle STAGE 1 KN LIFETIME Air FILTER.  I am not sure if this filter is better than the stock or not, but it seemed like an appropriate replacement.  Thoughts?

Now I just have to find the right dealer in Indianapolis to take care of me.

Thanks to all!!!

the K&N filter is better than the stock paper filter.

you can install both yourself and save the $$$.

if you can change the air filter in your car you can replace the filter on the bike...

to program the SERT all you need to do is remove the seat from the bike, the ECM plug is right there.
you just need to have a computer close enough to the bike to progam the SERT............(a notebook computer would be ideal..)

Has anyone used the Thundermax or the Daytona to solve the heat problem.
My understanding is even with the SERT intake pressures will increase running a lower AFR because of the narrow band O2 sen...

can someone elaborate, that is smarter than I am.
