Hmmm, very interesting idea.... Sounds like a job for the SERT..... Wonder if that control is in there?? Who do I know that might have a clue.......

You can't customize cruise with the SERT.  Digital Tech is a program that the dealerships use.  It lets them do a lot of things we can't.  Programming the FOB's for the security system and marrying it to the ECM is an example that comes to mind.  It would not surprise me if they could change the top end calibration on the cruise.  It's just one more device controlled by the computer that they need to be able to troubleshoot.  H-D sells these bikes in Europe.  I doubt the speed is capped at 85MPH there.

they work good if you ride alone,, with a group, they are useless.

  Works great if you are the lead!!!!  On some of our long distance trips, I hit cruise and have to hit the speed up/slow down occasionally.

If I remember correctly I believe the 85 limit is a Safety Foundation standard.  Could be blowin smoke too..... ???
