Fall Ride to Red Wing

Like several hundred other bikers, my wife Kandy and I took a ride to look at the fall colors along the St. Croix River yesterday. We went from St. Paul down to Red Wing, MN with a short cross over into Wisconsin at Prescott. The weather was beautiful with lots of sun, a south breeze and temps about 60 degrees. We were fortunate to have our good friends Jerry and Les Jones following us in our Miata with a camera. Jerry rides but Les does not so, not wanting to leave anyone home on such a beautiful day, we broke out all the top down toys. Here's a shot coming into Afton, MN,

Afton is in the river valley so you get some nice curves and hills as you continue south on St. Croix Trail.

We were probably a week past peak leaf watching but there were still some nice colors.

Hwy 35 south of Prescott is a great ride. Sweeping curves, bluffs and views of the river valley.

My wife Kandy and I heading for lunch. Kandy has reengaged with riding this year with a passion. Got her a Suzuki S50 Boulevard and she just can't ride enough!
