I had the pipes on my 04 SEEG done. They have over 20,000 miles on them and look like the day they were installed.

Even oven cleaner did not touch the coating like it did on the powder coat.

Did you notice a heat reduction versus the bikes without it?

In the sense of the pipes being cooler...yes

Motor cooler.....it all depends on how you tune your bike
you can leave your tune alone and the motor will run cooler.....but
now that the motor runs cooler you  can add fuel and change timing where needed to increase it's output
with new timing and fuel the motor heat will not change drastically from before coating

No doubt there, it made an amazing difference on the 07serk, I would attribute the "leak: not showing up (while I owned it).
Oil temp went from 270 to 230. Metal temps on the rear head went from 380 to 340.  I did a rinehart 2-1, kN af, sert butt dyno( came off the canned map a wee bit).

Tis CUSE4 is at the 270 oil, 380 metal now..I have the sert, but not looked at the software. I have the D&D but figgered to get it coated before I put it on the rack and go from "factory" to "correct"...For me it was a flat 13.9 afr across the board when in loop.  We'll see.

I just want the hot down.  Thanks for the feedback.

Did you have to remove any coating on the slip joints?

I opened the box from D&D to look at the contents..The muffler has no indent but they assured me it is not a problem and the header looks coated.  I asked via email this am, they have been very good with replys.  Is there a picture of the "new" clamp out here somewhere? Thanks.

The black header is coated, I assume any of the color headers are coated.

I am waiting on a quote from JetHot on the header to shoot it with the bright silver, says to knock quite a bit of heat down.

I lined up the D&D muffler to eyeball it and it looks to clear the axle bolt,,,by a couple of red one's.

D&D has been excellent on email replies, really very good...

Nice looking pipe. I hope it is not too loud. I ordere it with the quiet performance baffle and the can is heavy!

Saturdays highway run was pleasant at 3-3200 rpm other than a hot right foot...

Just in! These guys are good communicators if nothing else.   :2vrolijk_21:

Mike
If they are silver them there is no coating on them we only coat the outside of our systems not the inside.
You should not have to use anything where the muffler meets the header and if you got the system in the last 7 or 8 months then you have the new HD clamp.

Thanks for contacting D&D

They are fantastic to deal with. They replaced my muffler and clamp because mine was slipping rearwards. I received the new stuff a few days later. I just contacted them to arrange the return of the old stuff. They're sending FedEx to pick it up. Didn't have to do a damn thing to get the new and return the old!!! I wish all companies were this easy to deal with!!! Kudos to D&D and Leonard!!! :2vrolijk_21:

I coated both inside and outside.

With a used pipe...they can coat it also, they have to clean the inside before coating it. Just cost a few dollars more.

I got a quote for 140 to coat, 50 to strip the chrome, 40 for shipping. Not bad if it gets rid of the hot foot! 5-7 days after they get plus ship time.

Brian,

Did you use HPC?  Do you recal the cost for the exhaust?
