Just make sure if you go ahead and do this .......blow us away with the paint

I have seen many paint jobs that are better than a CVO job but it will cost some change.

(I would not confine myself to a CVO design only)

numbered / limited edition bikes are just marketing BS to get us to separate from our money.

not much really special being one of 1800,  but we seem to buy into it.

I respectfully disagree
The CVO line-up is only 10 years old this year
A 71 Hemi-Cuda could be had for small change in 1981.

Thank you!

How much would this bike be worth if it had custom wheels, flame paint job and extended bags?
Not much in todays market!

I am "toying" with the idea of a different paint job on my Autumn Haze Cuse4. Here are some pics of the paint scheme. I am thinking....

Keep the Autumn Haze
Change the "burnt orange" to a metallic deep black
Change the "Orange" accent strip to a nice blue like on the Smurf (07cuse)

Can anyone take these pics and photoshop them and show me what that would look like?

The more the merrier if this is possible.

Thanks!!

First pic

No!

Chipster
That bike is money in the bank brother. In 15 years some of the earlier CVO models will be worth 3 and 4 times their original cost. People seem to forget that H-D makes 50 -60 THOUSAND of most models in their line-up. 1800 seems like a lot today, but attrition will wear that number down quickly. I was watching American Muscle Car and they featured a 67 Mustang Hi-Po 289. Ford made over 5,000 of them. In 2008 they are a rare car and worth big $$$$$.

How old will you be in 37 years?

do the math on a 35K investment for 37 years even at 6% and see what it is worth? no insurance, maintenance, storage or batteries needed.

I will bet that the the CVO return would not even be close.

and that is assuming cars and motorcycles appreciate the same, which they do not.

how much is a 1999 FXR the first CVO worth today?

Do not fool yourselves, these are not good investments, they are toys that do not depreciate as much as other toys like boats

(now there is a bad investment)

I'm sorry if it seems we're dissing you brother. We're not actually. We're disagreeing based on a limited knowledge of your personal situation and what we see as common sense in this situation.  If your annual income is 7 figures and you buy these bikes with pocket change then by all means do whatever makes you happy dude. Buy a couple and go nuts with one of them. But if you're a working stiff and financing even 50% of the bike then we're just trying to say " don't do it bro, it ain't worth it "

       PS
We can't argue politics anymore, we've got to have something to have a good debate about.

I know somebody that has already re-painted a 2009 B&O SERG.
