Same motor, except the ultra's come with lower fairings and help keep the heat in a little bit better.

Only difference in the "customer service related performance enhancement" is that the ultra's got new heads and the rest of the 110's were given everything else.  Same leaks on both models.

So let me get this straight, Only the ultras are recieving new cylinder heads on the "product improvement"? So that means the Springer the dyna and the road king are just getting gaskets, acr's, and what ever that bolt was-Is that correct?

Yeap.  Same motor.  Different fix.  Gotta love the logic that shoved that through TQM.

What about valve guides, do they replace the valve guides in others besides the ultra's?

Negatory on the valve guides for other models at this point ...

I was also informed that they arent swapping cylinders any longer either unless they surpass some spec of slipage ...

I'm not as worried about the cylinders as I am going with .010 over 10.5 pistons. Speaking of which what is the problem with the cylinders? Is it an untrue bore or what?

Mine are going .005 to ensure roundness.

The Ultra motors have minds of their own and therefore they require more work. HD uses special non-Ultra valve guides on all 110's except the SEUC's!!! Plus, since the other 3 models are more of a hot rod and get beaten more, of course they don't need "the fix"! What a buncha crap!!! FTF!!! FTW!!! ;)

OilCan1,

There are/were liners that were moving.  Now there is a new spec for what is acceptable liner slipage ..  :nervous:

Going 10 over is that to get a little more displacement vs. going 5 over and possibly leaving room for another cut?

No, going .010 over because the .005 over pistons from HD have been discontinued. Go ahead check it out they are available in the 08 SE catalouge but not in the 09 catalouge. When my dealer punched the part number in it came up obsolete.

Unbalanced,

Liner slippage? at the base wear the cases were bored? Mine was a 96 to 110 conversion done at the dealer would this have an effect. I was just wondering if the machining might of been of a tiny bit more percision being done by hand? I have 28000 miles and have had 1 set of head gaskets aT 17000. Other than that no issues until just hear lately the ACR's don't always work right and man does that sound bad when they act up.

Remember that Harley is not the only company that makes pistons for these scoots

if you must stick with Harley...have your sealer do a search and see if another dealer has them in stock

My wife works at a dealership so I'm pretty well stuck with using HD parts(which I don't mind) and going .010 over really doesn't bother me much because when this wears out I will probably look at doing something different.

OILCAN,

It is the juggs with the liner slippage not the cases.
