Thanks for the pictures and ride report, Terry. Glad you got a weekend to unwind a bit. We are getting to the time of the year that the only riding scenery I get to see is thru others. It is hitting the 30's at night and 40's for highs around me now. It will be April before warmth returns. So keep riding and keep posting so me and others can make it thru another winter...
How has the transition of not having a full fairing in front of you been?
Scott...suprisingly, lack of the full fairing has not been an issue with regards to wind. The new Rifle shield does a better job of blocking wind than did the stock, which was too tall for me anyway. What I miss at times is the music, but 90% of the time I used the headsets for that, so that can be remedied if longer trips are planned, farily easily. I do miss the guage cluster on the dash as well. The Liner is much like an RK in that regard...have to look down to see some functions...with the FF helmet, I can see the top of the speedo, but have to look down slightly for other views. But, it does have a small tach, and a small LED panel for time, odometer, trip. The guage panel is one of the nice looking things on this bike....I'll have to get a shot of it and post...very retro looking, with a light blue background light at night. Miss the cruise, but have a decent remedy for that I'm about to install. Motor goes clackedy, clack, so I'm used to that, and the windshield throws some of that noise back to you, much like the full fairing. The bike is really unique amoung the Jap offerings...not much to compare it to in form or function. Most folks don't know what they are looking at...only the one logo on the right side "filter cover" It's the motor that's different from most other metrics...noisy, kind of like a HD, only with twice the valves. Easy to ride though...low CG.
