Wow! What a nice surprise this thread is! Thanks Howie for starting this! And thank you all for reading and replying here!

Binx created that web page from the Arthritis Foundation site. Mom fought this disease for over forty years. We called her the Bionic Woman! In the 60's, their treatment was barbiturates and turned her into a junkie. Weaned her off that and used steroids. Didn't have much in the way of treatment for this. Still don't. Both knees and hips eventually replaced. Diabetes, failing eyesight and hearing. But she lived in her own place, still walked, never complained, dealt with it all, and did her own thing. Then heart started failing. That was 2 months ago and was the beginning of the end. A few weeks to try to fix things, but when it was determined that things couldn't be fixed, she had a chance to get her affairs in order and prepare for it. She saw everyone she loved before she left, and got a chance to say her goodbyes. She divied up what little she had, so nobody would have to worry about that. She went slowly and quietly, and waited til she saw each of her kids one last time. Then quietly it was all over. Couldn't have been more peaceful or accommodating for her. I'm happy for that. She's now comfortable and starting a whole new journey. I wish her a fantastic trip this time around!!!
It would have been nice if something could have been done over all these years about that severe arthritis. There's still very little they can do. If anyone is interested, please visit the site and learn more about this crippling disease. If anyone sees fit and would like to donate there in her honor, maybe a lil of this help might eventually lead to a better way to deal with this debilitating disease. Thanks so much for everyone's kindness and love. I can't say enough about what everyone's said to me here!
Hoist!
