BB,

Try http://www.boatingabc.com/ I have been a member of that site for years.  I do not frequent it too much anymore, but you can get some great info on the site.  A few of us bikers hang out there as well.

Here's the latest over on I-Boats

A guy asked a question about covering his outdrive. I posted a reply and also asked him a question. He had posted a picture of his boat showing the outdrive. I noticed he had a very nice looking cover for the entire boat and asked a question. He thanked me for my post about the outdrive issue and answered my question about the boat cover. One of the Supreme Grand Commanders then jumped down my throat for asking about the boat cover on an engine thread and said I should have started a new thread in the boat section. Now I know I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas Tree, but I thought the whole damn website was about boats.

You got that right Rog. I posted a question over there and it got 70 reads and not a single reply. Soooo, I guess I have to vent my boat jones here.

Just got word today that the VocEd High School is done with my boat. What started out as pulling the motor to replace the flywheel/ring gear and starter ended up being a whole laundry list of stuff ALL of which was free labor and wholesale price on parts. They pulled the motor and installed the new flywheel and starter I had provided and also replaced the waterjacket boots and a bunch of gaskets, R&R'd the lower unit, set me up with a dual battery set-up,installed a new automatic bilge pump, replaced the trim/tilt switch for the lower unit and R&R'd the electrical for the running lights. One of the batteries will be for the bilge pump and one to start the engine as suggested by Hogasm elsewhere on the sit. I only need to buy two battery boxes and the batteries when I get to Maine and it'll be time to go boating. I just wanted to post about it, not to brag that I got such a good deal, but to give a nod to the school (Portland Regional Vocational High School) for everything they did for me. I'm going to add a C note to the bill to buy all the kids in autoshop pizza/soda for lunch.  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks Roger, but I can't take all the credit.

Close buddy of mine runs the autobody side of the VocEd High School's automotive program.

The boat program was just started last year since there is a real need for boat techs in Maine.

I bought a 97 Caddy Deville that had been through the school shop last year when I dropped off the boat.

Paid $2k for a Florida Granny car that had all the mechanicals gone through.

If they kick me out of SoCal because I can't live here on my Disability Pension, I've got everything I need waiting for me in Maine.
