Ugly space in front of seat
« on: October 29, 2008, 09:33:28 PM »

I cut a 3x5x1/8" rubber shield and punched 2 holes for a wire tie. A great improvement. looks "factory".

Okay, I see this is in the Road Glide section, so I assume we're talking Road Glide here. And probably a Screamin Eagle Road Glide at that, but could you humor this C.O.B.B. and identify the motorcycle in the photos please ?

Thanks

I feel fortunate that I do not have the problem with the stock seat gap...nice fix though.

better photo. I have been hearing comments from other owners of this condition and I hope this is a good suggestion.

Good job and post, Highwaystar.  Thanks for the information and idea!  I'm not pleased with the gap either and that's a good fix.  Note the dash on the Street Glides.  It is a bit longer.  I had one one my 04 RG and it worked great with a SE seat.  Your fix is a few hundred $$ better!!

I was out on the SERG today and could not believe the visual improvement.  What was HD thinking?

I have a theory on this. I have the same issue with the stock seat on my RG but not with the Corbin. I recently stripped all the FD chit off my ride and put the stock seat back on as I can't ride very far anymore. Gaposis was back to haunt me. A friend of mine considerably smaller and lighter than me sat on the bike and no gaposis. Are you a big dude Highwaystar ? Maybe the yahoos at H-D Inc only check this with a 150lb rider. You know how those "human engineering" weenies are  ;)

So your working theory is that the bigger the a$$, the bigger the gap???

Crap, I must be putting on some #s.

Yes, that's my theory exactly.

    PS
For the record, I don't have gaposis on my RG, I have canyonosis  :huepfenjump3:
