I just saw loctite in a chap stick like display. Probably been around a hundred years but I never noticed. I've always uses the thin as water tubes. Because it seems the tubes always leak I'm wondering how well the stick type works.

I had a customer in Louisiana at a plastics plant that used the sticks and they offered to give me a set.  I have both the blue and red in my work tool box.  I still use the liquid blue at home as that's what I have the most of.

They also make different types of Loctite that allows for different set times.  On the red as an example, you can get a 5 minute set time or a 30 minute set time.  If you apply it and then have to make an adjustment on a part or something, it will still reactivate to hold.  But once a bolt or nut has been coated, set up and loosened, it needs to be re coated to work again.

The sticks are VERY handy and don't drip all over the place.  They also make both low temp and high temp anti-seize sticks, silver and gold.  These work great to coat spark plugs etc.

There is so much crap out there that one could buy it makes me dizzy some times.

I have sold these products for years and the only issue would be in a tight tolerance situation , the stick product would be to thick to penetrate and would shed off when the threads were engaged. the only other would on an inner race to shaft application ,I would stay with liquid.
