Touchup Paint
« on: October 31, 2008, 09:50:46 PM »

When I got my '07 CUSE2 I was given a bottle of both of the blue touch up paints with all the other goodies that come with the CVO's.

I just realized that I didn't get any with the '09.  Did anybody?  Or was my "gift" just a freak occurance? :nixweiss:

I did a search and it doesn't look like there's any mention of anyone getting any touchup paints.

That was a dealer "throw-in" apparently as the touch-up for CVOs is not included with the bike.

I think it was Scott.  I asked my dealer after I bought my 07 SEUC where the touch-up paint was as I thought it came with the CVOs.  They weren't sure so they called the MoCo and were told that the CVOs did not come with the touch up paint included, but that I could order it if I wanted to...which I did.  :nixweiss:

Having it is one thing.  Using it so that it doesn't make a "ding" look more "jacked up" than it was to begin with is another.  So, I have my touch up kit.  I'll tackle most jobs, but some things are better left to those who know what they're doing...........and I ain't that man when it comes to touch up.

You would think that for $35K and a "factory custom" paint job, that the MoCo would have thrown in the touch up paint.  :nixweiss:

I hear ya Henry.  I'm the same way.  I have the paint, but I'll let the experts to the touch up with it.

Good point, Charlie, but you know those H-D corporate blood suckers have developed a niche of making turnips bleed.  They got my $38.  Still, the kit only covers 2 of my 6 colors.

Next thing you know they'll be turning our knees into hamhocks with which to season their turnip greens.   :huepfenlol2:

What a coincidence!

My Duracell is in for the upgrade and I was mentioning a fault in the paint on the saddle bag near the latch.  The service rep asked if I received any touch up paint with the bike.  I thought that was a very strange question.

Obviously I never received any paint for my '08 or with my '05 SEEG.  Had to buy some for the '05 and two little bottles cost me $73.00, which I thought was ridiculous seeing that the same two little bottles for my wife's Ultra cost less than $30.00.

You guys with the '07's have all the luck!

:o  That's steep.  Mine came with three bottles.  One is Emerald Black.  One is Gold Flake, which I assume goes on prior to the green.  One is Majestic Green Pearl.

:ROFLOL:  Howie speaks Redneck.  Me and Ken learnt him.  It was a "train the trainer" event, so he'll take care of everyone up there.   ;D  After all, the man LOVES grits and a hamburger at Waffle House.   :2vrolijk_21:

:D  But will he actually eat turnips and/or turnip greens?  :nixweiss:

Can't beat a pot of beans, turnips, and corn bread  ;)
