Photo size
« on: August 12, 2005, 11:51:30 AM »

O.K. guys, what just learned how to resize a photo so that it isn't twice as large as the monitor.  What size should I be resizing to, to get it to fit the screen perfectly?

Oh come on Naitram......why do you gotta make things so difficult just when I thought I was on top of things. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Resolution?  I thought that was only at New Year's Eve [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  O.K. I'll play, I have high speed access at home and work.  I use a lap top at work and a 17" monitor at home, does that help?  What resolution do most folks use......let's start there.

I'm not into all this puter stuff either.
103T (Brian) told me one time to make them 600 X 800, no bigger than that!

JC,

Go to Control Panel, then Dispay Properties.  Click on the Settings tab, and you should get a box like the attachment.  This will tell you the resolution you are currently running, and is the place where you can change that setting.

1024x768 but I have my viewing monitor set at 1280x1024 (Laptop is 1024x768).  I use both.

You can't go wrong with 800x600

I appreciate that too GRC, but then when I get there, do I want more resolution or less?  I thought the more just meant the picture was clearer, not larger? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  Hell, no wonder I had to pay somebody to come and hook up my new plasma TV yesterday.  Why does life got to be so rough? [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

All my bike pics are already resized thanks to Brian.  It's just a test photo that was taken last night.  Hell, if I was a vintner I'd be rich enough to pay somebody to do this chit for me and I wouldn't be strainin my brain. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]  There ain't but a couple good brain cells left........years of self abuse......you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean, JC.  Resolution doesn't mean the same thing on a computer monitor versus a printer versus a whatever.  In the case of a monitor, increasing the resolution makes everything smaller.  Usually on a 17 inch monitor a resolution of 1024 X 768 is a good size.

OMG

Major puter shut down.

I scrolled to JC's picture and puter started flashing,

"MAJOR COMPUTOR ERROR"
"DEFECTIVE PICTURE"
"WARNING, WARNING, WILL ROBINSON"
Then the screen goes blank [smiley=furious.gif]

And WFP, what is,
"you look like a vintner "
a vinter?

O.K........hey, I get to clownin but I really do appreciate all the help guys.

I'm on my lap top at work.  It set at 1024x768 (looks like the highest it will go) and the photo above has been resized to 600x800 however, it's still bigger than the screen.  Does it appear that way on yours, too?  Am I able to get it to where it just fits the screen?

I've actually already learned a lot this morning........now I just have to retain it.  Where the hell did I put that Ginko?  Bought a video tape on Improveing Your Memory.......but damn if I can remember where I put it. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
