Suzanne and I took another ride up to North Alabama today to test out the new Corbin Classic Solo and Pillion that I picked up from a member on another site who could never get used to the firmness of a Corbin. It's a close version, and moved me up just right on the floorboards. Suzanne liked her portion of the seat as well.
Back to the ride...we took 100% backroads today, traveling up Hwy 75 into Albertville, then over into Geraldine, and North on 227 to Buck's Pocket State Park. This place is out in the middle of nowhere, so you have to want to get there. Great little canyon, where South Sauty Creek begins and ultimately flows into Lake Guntersville. At certain times of the year, the section through the park is a class IV/V whitewater trip. There's great camping there, so if you're into that, it's hard to beat....some nice trails too. After visiting both the rim and riding into the bottom of the canyon, we continued our ride, traveling further on 227, and into Guntersville State Park. We rode along the edge of the lake, where Town Creek comes in, then over to Short Creek, where we stopped for some nice photos while the light was nice. Then over the mountain into Guntersville and back home on Hwy 79, getting home just after dark.
First photo is of the new (to me) Corbin...plans are to get a matching pad for the sissy bar, as Corbin makes one for the Stratoliner.
