Insurance for SE
« on: August 13, 2005, 09:46:15 AM »

Shopping for insurance..was wondering what you guys are paying...who you have your insurance with...and the service they have given.

Have ya'll looked into a group purchase....could be some serious bucks to be saved.

Sold my last bike a few week back. Used Progressive Insurance. I am thinking of getting the Melon and kept the insurance so when I get my new bike I will still be covered for thirty days...until I can get it changed.

Too many variables to compare insurance with somebody in another location.  Variables are driving record, age, location (zip code), accessories covered, amount of coverage, etc.

I have Allstate on my motorcycle (21st Century on my truck) and they paid off on both accidents within just a few days, no arguments on value and my premiums have not gone up.

You might check Geico Cycle Gaurd...I started using them a couple of years ago and they have consistently been the least expensive that I could find here in FL.  Like JC mentioned, it's really difficult to compare prices state to state and coverages etc.

I have been Allstate, Allstate, Allstate for years. I moved to Florida and POW! I now stand by the gentlemen before me and conquer, GEICO is the way to go. I pay 761 a year for full coverage, 100/300, with a 1000 deductable. This includes the FL uninsured/underinsured rider. The only thing I diddnt include was major medical, as I have Health Insurance.

I've had Progressive for many years, but I tried Foremost for the SEEG and came in at 50% of Progressive with better coverage.  100/300/100, additional equipment coverage up to $3500 included, towing & roadside assistance, $500 deductible.  Premium  is $348 per year.  One note:  if you use their web site for a quote, it automatically gives you a quote based on the minimum requirements for your state.  To get a better, more accurate quote, call them on the phone.    www.foremost.com

I also use Geico and pay about 1300 for all three bikes.  The next best deal was about double and the HOG thing was triple this amount.  How they get the numbers is beyond me but it definitely pays to shop around a good bit before you buy.  JP [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I had GMAC Tour riders for years.Nobody could beat them. This last year they sold out to National General Ins. They sent me a renewal notice, increasing the rate 65%.
After calling every company I found in the book, I settled on PROGRESSIVE @ $600.00 per year (not 6 months). Best I could find full coverage here in nor-cal. I'll be checking Foremost/Allstate before renewal.  Good Luck

Lots of variables with the Insurance. I live in Houston Texas. Automobile insurance for Harris county is outragous!! I am 46 with a good driving record I was using Progressive and was paying $1250.00 a year for my SEEG. I now use American National, the company that I have my car and house insured with. I am now paying $563.00 a year. Big difference. It pays to shop around.  [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I'm paying a little over $400 per year on the SEEG with Am. Family, but I have 3 bikes, 2 cars and a house with them so the discounts are pretty deep...
