Quieting D&D Standard Baffle
« on: November 03, 2008, 11:45:18 AM »

Has anyone purchased the Quiet Baffle for the Fat Cat 2-1 and replaced the Standard baffle?  What was the difference in the baffles?  Smaller diameter and that's it?
I'm wondering if just using fiberglass muffler packing will do anything??  Only want to take it down a notch, nothing major.

Have heard them side by side.  Though not in comparison on the same bike.  "Quiet" is a relative measure for the quiet baffle though.  It's not "quiet" per se.  Nothing approaching stock for one comparison.

The quiet baffle actually has a nice throaty rumble when you're on it.  Having heard them both I actually prefer the sound of the quiet baffles.  Other's tastes may vary of course.  They can vary quite a bit from bike to bike also.  The SEEG's CR is about 10.25:1.  The SERG's is whatever the stock 95" motors were.  Same exhaust on both bikes.  There is a distinct difference in the sound betweent the two bikes.  SEEG is a bit louder (though not much) but is deeper and more of a growl to it.
