Strange Odometer Reading

I have four settings on my odometer, three I'm used to:
Trip A
Trip B
Total Odometer Mileage

But there is another in the series that begins with an "r" a few spaces and miles.  Currently counting down (it's down to 96 now and counting).

What the heck is that?  Did I miss something in the manual?

That shows you how many miles to empty.

Too funny, my brother and I had the same conversation yesterday. This morning on the way to work it showed "r   26" at the last gas station before the freeway and with 18 miles to go I chickened out and filled up. Took 5.2 gallons.
After I filled up the readout went to 217. After lane splitting through 3-4 miles of slow traffic the readout was down to 215. Things thinned out and I was cruising around 70 and I noticed the readout was back up to 217 . Apparently the computer adjusts as your riding style changes.

I also heard that no matter which mode you are displaying, if the remaining miles gets under 10 then the display will automatically change to the miles remaining mode.

Conversation? Heard? Didn't you guys get a manual with the bike? Cars and other manufacturers, including the V-Rod's have that feature for years! And, by the way, it goes to LOW, when you have about 20 miles left. That depends on how you intend to ride those remaining miles, however.

Yeah, I got a manual and yes I'm aware of that features existance in other vehicles. Sorry for relating a personal experience.

mine shows how many miles I have left on the current tank- about 20(or half a gallon). The other day mine went from 10 to Lo, when I stopped to fill up it would only take 5.2 gallons of fuel(6 gallon tank) but the bike was leaning a bit.

The little icon of a gas pump should light up on the speedo when you get low on fuel too.
