it is misleading to judge stock throttle bodies by the size of the throttle blade...the '06  and up one-piece throttle body is a poor design...the intake manifold area is restrictive and creates turbulence...aftermarket throttle bodies are expensive, but well worth it...I recently gained 11hp with a horsepower incorporated t/body and s.e. injectors on my '08 fxdse2 "slightly" modified 110"...even if you don't gain that many hp, throttle response will be greatly improved...I'm so impressed with the seat of pants improvement that I'll probably add one to my wifes modified 96"...the s.e. 50mm and 58mm one-piece aren't much better than stock...the new two piece 58mm looks promising, but we have yet to see dyno results...as always, jmho!

I used a hosepower inc 55mm and se injectors...in hindsight, I should have used a 51mm for better roll-on streetability

Are you still using stock cam....

I considering a 251 cam
SE injectors and and new TB to get a slight increase in perfomance.....
The problem is that the dam warranty chits the bed when you start doing that......

While the moco one-piece TB may/may not be a poor design, there are aftermarket one-piece designs that perform very nicely I previously used a Zippers 54mm two-piece TB and upgraded to their 54mm one-piece and saw improved throttle response with slightly increased HP/TQ. I have since changed to their 60mm one-piece design and it performs quite well.

For those of you with '08+ touring bikes, you are limited to moco offerings as none of the aftermarket manufacturers offer any throttle-by-wire products yet.

What kind of engine are you running that you are using a 60MM?

jms,
I'm running se257 cams...my opinion is to run a shorter cam with the stock t/b and injectors...a cam that closes the intake from 36 to 42 degrees will make good power below 3000 rpm and pull until the throttle body quits flowing...a longer duration cam will start pulling at 3000 and still be pulling when the restrictive throttle body begins choking off the power at 4500...so all we've gained with the bigger cam is to narrow the powerband...on the other hand, if the heads, exhaust, injection system, and air cleaner all keep flowing, we can make power all the way past 6000 rpm

I know some folks who've had good results with zippers t/b's...my experience is limited to hpi and I like them

Is there a aftermarket intake that flow's well using the stock TB ?

I should have said the area behind the throttle blade is restrictive...the '06 and later throttle bodies are one-piece, so technically they don't have an intake...another thing that surprised me...when I bought a hpi t/body for my '08 couple months ago, it was two-piece, even though my bike had a one-piece stock...I asked the supplier if he'd made a mistake and he said all hpi are two-piece

Can someone point me to a solid written HD type of source that says if the throttle body is a 46 or a 50.  I just got off the phone with dealer and was told that my throttle body was a 46 for an 08 SE Springer.  They said that was the correct size for the bike.

I believe this is correct on Softail models.
