Don't you dare pull this but f$%*ing Words Fail me...My boss emailed me the following about Starbucks and it's left me absolutely livid.....READ ON!!
 
Recently, Royal Marines in Iraq, wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees, and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

 So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should support them by NOT buying any of their products!  I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't  support the boys on the ground, fighting street-to-street and, house-to-house.

 If you feel the same as I do then pass this along. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll  all be there again when I deploy once more.

Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit, the fire fighters  and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers, and Starbucks CHARGED THEM! ! !

AN ADDED NOTE TO THIS: STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS.
 
There are 227 Starbucks stores across the UK, and there's no doubt that our soldiers would get the same response from this company, so let us do our bit and boycott Starbucks to show them how despicable their actions are.

Just FYI, Starbucks is currently being investigated by the office's of the US Attorney in several cities for their felony actions on Nov 4th in trading free products for votes .....  This is not intended as a political post and should not be considered one.  Simply a confirmation of Starbucks corporate policy.  May they rot in bankruptcy hell.....

I really don't care much about Starbucks and all the other yuppie havens; if they all ceased to exist it wouldn't affect my life one little bit.  As for the yuppies and wannabees who allow phenomenons like Starbucks to exist and prosper, I hope they are the first ones down the tubes in our lovely economy.  We really don't need to waste resources on finding new ways to spend too much on things like flavored water, or inventing a new language to describe the various "products".

However, this is another excellent example of the danger of blindly believing all those spurious comments that float around in cyberspace.  Some are like this one, created by a misinformed person in a fit of rage.  Others are created with the full knowledge that they are bogus, just to create hate and discontent.  In the old days, it took a lot more work to spread crap.  Get a bunch of flyer's printed up, stand on a street corner and pass them out, maybe mail them if you had enough cash for the postage, etc.  Now any POS with an axe to grind can write whatever libelous crap they want and post it anonymously on the web or send it via email to thousands who in turn forward it to thousands more.  When you see or receive such "information", before you react you need to ask yourself just how logical the whole thing sounds and try to verify before passing it on.  Just think how you would feel if someone who doesn't like you decided to start a little internet campaign about your business practices or better yet your personal sexual preferences (want some candy little girl?).

I like the Snopes cartoon that Chip posted.  Snopes needs to be "snoped" since they have an agenda just like everyone else.  Just because it's on the internet does not mean it's true & that also applies to BS sites such as Snopes.


Starbucks sells more milk (I'm in the biz, it's verifiable) than coffee.  Why?  My opinion is: their coffee tastes like crap & needs something added to it like milk, sugar, or flavorings to be drinkable.  As to supporting/buying their products - rarely buy their coffee but sometimes do for my business reasons.  Over priced is just an opinion as well, but compared to better coffees, IMHO they are overpriced. 

As to company policies, they are yuppies catering to yuppies, wanna be yuppies, college kids on daddy/mommy money, and/or hippy dippies & I have no idea what they support corporately other than the profit motive with a faux greenie marketing approach.

With cold riding weather approaching & coffee stops aplenty for the groups I ride with, do not recall ever stopping in a Starbucks in the past.  No reason to in the future.

Can't post it here since it comes too close to the political "line", but run a little search on Barbara and David Mikkelson, operators, not owners of Snopes.  Their affiliations and paycheck may be surprising to some of their advocates of arbitrarily adding fact or fiction to their reports.
