« on: August 14, 2005, 04:13:43 PM »

Hi cvo people, I would like to know if anyone has changed their front suspension. because I changed the back to progressive 440s after reading all of the posts on this site. If the front suspension works half as good as the rear Ill change it in a hart beat  THANKS IN ADVANCE

I changed the front fender...   and now the damned thing wobbles worse! (oops, that's a different thread)

Signed,
The CVO (village) people...

Actually, the front suspension has been discussed in several threads, but I don't know of anyone who has actually messed with it yet... [smiley=cherry.gif]

I have reworked my front suspension and so has Mr. Magoo.  I put the Race Tech Emulators and standard length Race Tech heavy springs for a Road King in mine.  This raises the front end by about 1/2 inch.  This complements the 12.5 inch rear Progressive 440's.  I find this combination to suite me very well.  I believe the added heigth combined with less suspension compression in corners gives me about the same ground clearance as my previous stock Road King.  The overall effect makes the bike feel extremely stable and really inspires confidence in the handling.

Just changed the front suspension internals to stock electra glide components and standard length electra glide rear shocks.  So far the extra height really helps to keep from dragging in the corners  and the extra suspension helps on the hard bumps.  Why in the world the SEEG comes with lowered suspension I do not understand? Also it was interesting to learn that both stock SEEG front forks were conventional forks not the typical cartridge shock on the left.

The 06 SEEG coems with exactly what I wished for back last March. The cartridge on the Ultra has been relaced and the springs have been changed . Harley also installed a valve somewhat like the  Race Tech Emulators in the fork also. Im going to put the 06 parts in my 05.

David
It's not a 06 SEEG!

HD2003,
I just got in off of a 4500 mile Ride with a couple of Dealers in your area over there.  There top notch riders and know how to put down some miles. You got some great people there in NC.

The 06 S/E Ultra is not a SEEG, that's all I meant, maybe a SEEGU but not a SEEG.

David what did you do?
What ride were you on?
The K/P ride across America?

In the (regular, standard, non screaming eagle) fork mounted full fairing Harley dresser line up for 06 there are 4 bikes.

David

Did you meet Mike Hefner on that ride
He owns the local (to me anyway) Honda dealership.
I just bought two scooters from him.
He's a great guy!
Were you there when the Victory guy ran off the road?
